The full expressive power of brevity. In this workshop with Giusy Gallizia and Lorenzo Palloni, members of the Mammaiuto collective, participants will explore how the limits of the medium can spark ideas, by writing and drawing a short comic story on a single page. The workshop is organized in collaboration with BrivioDue.
Founded in 2011, Mammaiuto is a collective of comic artists and
writers that has reshaped the independent comics scene through
self-publishing, releasing new stories and strips every month, freely
available on mammaiuto.it.
Mammaiuto
Comic artist and illustrator, she mainly works for the French bande
dessinée market, where she is currently illustrating two series for
the “Metamorphose” collection (Oxymore). She also teaches at the
International School of Comics and has created illustrations and
book covers for major Italian children’s publishers.
Giusy Gallizia
Comic artist and writer, Lorenzo Palloni is a founding member of
Mammaiuto and of the comics journalism magazine La Revue.
Awarded for his screenwriting, he teaches storytelling and has
worked on Dylan Dog. He has published over thirty works, including
graphic novels and short story collections, with editions released in
Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, China, Croatia, and Poland.
